Three Thrills by Thursday

one.
<via Glossier>

Glossier. Over the weekend I stopped by the Glossier Showroom in NYC & picked up two of their lip colors: Jam & Crush. The store is as simply elegant as the rest of their campaign. I love these lipsticks because the color adapts to your own pigment, so each color looks different on every person. It has a creamier feel to it but appears matte after application. The lipstick itself appears more natural than a lot of other lipsticks I own, which is great when going for a less “done-up” look. I also cannot wait to try their other products!

two.

This week, for the first time, I dropped into Pink Soda, a great new blowout bar & full beauty salon in Stamford. I got their signature blowout which took only 45 minutes & lasted the whole weekend! Highly recommend.

three.

It’s no secret I love a good sweet treat. I contacted Hayleycakes and Cookies for these incredible Beyonce themed bachelorette cookies. Just following their Instagram makes me want to become a baker- though I could never even fathom having that much icing talent. Spoiler alert: the cookies taste even better than they look.

Cookbook Giveaway: Graze

You know I love to share my fav cookbooks but this one may take the cake. My friend, Suzanne Lenzer, chef & food stylist extraordinaire, has recently debuted her newest cookbook Graze which emphasizes the joy of tapas style meals. A less-of-more mentality; smaller portions for more variety. Um, yes please! The book is fantastically written and along with incredible recipes she includes sections on how to shop & what essentials you should have lying around your kitchen to make grazing totally stress free. Suzanne also feels, “life is better with bread” which paints a great picture of why we get along so well (#rootinforgluten).

Suzanne and I met each other while working on a food client at my old agency. She was the preferred food stylist of this brand & from our first photoshoot I was amazed. Her kind demeanor & mind blowing food styling are just a tiny tidbit of how lovely it is to work with (& know) her.

If you’re thinking tapas aren’t really your thing, there are plenty of recipes you can double to eat as a full meal. If you’re still not convinced, then I’ll direct you to her mouthwatering pizza cookbook: Truly Madly Pizza….which describes many of my nights in college & let’s face it, grad school, too. In Truly Madly Pizza, Suzanne prefaces the book with two particular sentiments I think we can all get behind:

  1. Pizza is not junk food.
  2. It should always be paired with wine.

And the people said AMEN!

Ok, ok the giveaway! Super simple to enter, just follow the steps below.

  1. Follow me on Instagram
  2. Like & tag your favorite cooking partner in the comment section on my photo of Suzanne’s cookbook
  3. Follow Suzanne on Instagram

Winner will be announced this Thursday! Good luck!

Cheers,

Major Life Updates

June was quite a month for me.

I celebrated my twenty- eighth birthday just a day after my last post with a fun night out starting at one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, When We Were Young. The food, cocktails & company couldn’t be topped. Their signature drink, the While We Were Young, is as beautiful as it delicious.

I wore my favorite summer romper from Express.

A few days after my birthday, I started a new job that allows me to pursue my passions inside & outside the office. That being said, I’m happy to have some time back to keep content flowing across the pages of Bliss & Bellinis. Leaving my old job wasn’t the easiest. I enjoyed my clients, my boss & the people I worked with but job-wise, sometimes you have to look beyond the here & now and set yourself up to work in a space that you’re truly passionate about.

A few weeks after that, Dave & I headed home to Cleveland to celebrate my birthday with my best friends & family. Unbeknownst to me, Dave had bigger plans. While in Cleveland, Dave proposed at my very favorite place in the world and coincidentally where we had our first date, The Cleveland Museum of Art.

After a big glass of champagne, we went to meet up with my parents to celebrate. To my surprise, Dave, and our families, had arranged a surprise engagement party at my parent’s home with our closest friends and family… which all kicked off with what else but a bellini toast. I’m not afraid to admit it but I think my summer peaked early this year. Needless to say, I’m 100% OK with it.

In my downtime, I’ve been trying to spend as much time as I can at the club or on a sailboat, which was a perfect way to welcome the summer solstice.

As well as gallivanting around the city a little bit, too. Smorgasburg is one of my favorite activities. Recently, I FINALLY got to try the infamous Ramen Burger— which totally lived up to it’s reputation. Delicious.

Trying to soak in as much East Coast sun as I can but I have a lot of upcoming travel to look forward to. On a totally unrelated note, is everyone gearing up for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? I am counting down the days!

Cheers!

Happy Thursday, babes! I honestly cannot catch a grip on just how quickly time is moving. Autumn is definitely settling in our here on the east coast and though it’s very welcome, I’m still holding onto hopes of an indian summer (preferably a weekend, mother nature, if you’re reading!)

First thrill this week is just an overall general update… My Mexico trip, for my dear friend’s bachelorette, will go down in history as one of the greatest trips of all time. See Instagram for Mexico photos as there are too many fabulous ones to post. Otherwise, see below for a quick insta- roundup.

My second thrill this week, admittedly, is something I’m a little late to the game for: Trunk Club. For those of you who are in my boat, Trunk Club gives you a personal stylist who, after getting to know your style, sends you a trunk of hand picked items. I was so skeptical because half the time I can barely pick out clothes for myself. Sara, my stylist, hit it out of the park because my trunk was amazing! I wish I would have known about this in college, too! I am so addicted and who doesn’t want to come home to a surprise new wardrobe every few weeks? Sign me up! If you’re interested, click here!

Lastly, I’m gushing over a beautiful, affordable new jewelry brand *heart eyes* Shashi. Based out of NYC, these pieces are great to pair with every day attire but also are great to dress up that LBD on date night. I love the tassels- they are so fun. I also love this line because they make awesome gifts.

Cheers!

Rabbit, Rabbit!

Happy Thursday, babes & first day of September!

I hope you’ve had a quick week and are prepping for this nice long weekend ahead. I’m headed to Mexico to celebrate one of my best friends on her bachelorette trip. I. can’t. wait.

My thrills this week are a little overshadowed by my trip to the Museum of Ice Cream. This attraction has taken social media by storm and upon opening, sold out in just 3 short days. I got tickets back in June and had been counting down the days until last Monday. The museum is comparable to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory with a chocolate room, edible helium balloons, giant sprinkle pool and even a magic pill that turns a lemon slice sweet. It was so magical and I wish I was still laying in the sprinkle pool while writing this.

Secondly, I wanted to shared one of my favorite Instagram accounts to follow. Have you ever needed a few minutes to clear your head at work and wished you were elsewhere? Follow @graymalin! His photos are stunningly beautiful and transport you anywhere from the Amalfi Coast to a very bubbly bottle of champagne. His website also has incredible photos which make phenomenal phone screen savers.

Finally, a few days ago Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere posted the best food instagrams to follow. Check these out, they look pretty delish. I also LOVE How Sweet Eats.

Cheers!

Three Thrills by Thursday

Happy Friday eve!! Here are a few of my thrills by today… Thursday!

  1. Recently, one of my very best friends came to visit and we deemed that Saturday Treat Yo Self 2016. It was phenomenal. We of course skipped over to Dry Bar, which is totally my obsession. I love a good blow out and Dry Bar does it best. It was super hot and humid in the city but somehow the magicians at Dry Bar managed to keep our hair under control and looking fabulous for the rest of the night. I’m a sucker for a beautiful aesthetic too and the aura inside Dry Bar is so fun. Lots of white marble with their signature color yellow adorning the decor.. as well as mimosas. Need I say more? Do yourself a favor and treat yo self.

  2. Secondly, I am loving this brand of nail polish: Smith & Cult. As someone who works in the CPG industry, I LOVE good packaging. I love their bottles and the slight imperfection on the caps, so beautiful. Their colors are phenomenal and I can’t help but want to order all the deep oxblood/ marsala colors for fall. The polish itself wore incredibly well and was extremely resilient to water, I only ended up taking it off because my nails grow too quickly. A definite recommend. Has anyone tried their make up? If it’s half as great as their polish, I’m in.
  3. If we’re sticking to the beauty trend here, I’ll admit my faults. For a while I’d be fighting it, but in the end I have to admit… I, too, love the Kylie Jenner lip kits. After trying a friend’s Candy K (circa treat yo self 2016 weekend) I really love the way it wears and the color. I finally caved and last night my very own Kylie Jenner lip kit arrived in the mail. I’ll admit it, I was wrong. What other colors do you guys recommend?

    Cheers!
