I’m convinced, no matter if I’m flying to across the pond or just a quick flight back to Cleveland, there is some mystery that happens in the air. The plane dries out my skin and somehow leaves me looking (slightly?) disheveled by the time I land. It happens more often than not. Today I’m sharing a few items I always keep in my carryon bag to make sure, whether I’m traveling for business or pleasure, I step off the plane looking refreshed & ready for whatever my plans are.
drybar Triple Sec Finishing Spray. Hair gone flat during the flight? This travel size is perfect to reinvigorate your hair as you step out of the airport.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. All time favorite hydration (can you tell from the sights of my tube? lol). For a short flight, I use this on my hands. They always get so dry. If I’m on an extended flight, I use this as a mask/ moisturizer. If you don’t want to fly with a full sized tube, they make a mini now too!
Open Heart Apothecary Essential Oils. I always have this little rollerball applicator of Clarity with me; it’s such a calming scent. While traveling on a long flight, I’ll grab Dream to help lull me to sleep.
Scrunchie. If you’re someone who needs to pull up their hair to relax, or if you just get hot on the plane., a scrunchie will hold your hair up without the crease you get from a regular, tight hair tie. A few favorites here: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 //
Ere Perez Cheek & Lip Tint. Add a little color by applying this to your lips and cheeks as you’re landing.
Nail Polish. This is my new favorite color from Olive & June. While I don’t recommend applying nail polish while on the plane (some people just cannot handle the scent), I always keep it in my carry-on just in case you get a chip while on the go. If you need a quick touch up, stop into the bathroom after you land.
Cuticle Stick. Nothing ruins a perfect manicure like dry, icky cuticles. Keep them moisturized with this pen sized cuticle serum from Olive & June.
AirPods. If I’m on a shorter flight, I just travel with my AirPods. I’m a recent convert & they’re pretty freaking magical. I always keep a few podcasts downloaded on my phone to keep me busy if I get bored or a relaxing playlist to lull me to sleep. A quick cat nap is a great boost of energy for when you land.
Lumify. My eyes notoriously get red & itchy at the worst times; when it’s dry on the plane, especially. I keep Lumify in my bag (approved by my optometrist BFF!) to use if my eyes start to look bloodshot (ie scary!)
If all else fails, SUNGLASSES!
Cheers,
